Who We Are

The Melbern United Methodist church is part of the Northwest Plains District of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Our Mission Statement is: "The people of Melbern UMC seek to be a Healing, Delivering, and Transformation Station, proclaiming and demonstrating the liberating grace and truth of Jesus Christ, offering complete wholeness and freedom to every area of people's lives!"

We are a rural congregation, who are hungry and thirsty for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to know our Lord personally and intimately, desiring to hear His voice guiding and directing us as we go about our daily lives.

We are open to learning, growing and changing into the person Jesus Christ created each of us to be. We seek to learn how to live in peace and grace with each other, accepting and receiving one another, encouraging and building each other up, as well as gently correcting or challenging each other to be all that Jesus created us to be.

We welcome you to come and join us!

What We Believe:

We believe the Bible is divinely inspired by God and as we read, through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, it comes alive to our hearts and brings transformation as we act in faith on its truths!

We believe in one eternal God who exists as three separate Persons:  The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life as He walked among people, demonstrated the authority and power of God in works and speech, died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, ascended and is now seated at the right hand of God having accomplished all that is necessary for man's salvation and victory.

We believe it is essential for each person to repent of sin and by faith, receive the finished work of Christ by confessing Jesus Christ as Lord with the mouth and believing in the heart, resulting in regeneration by the Holy Spirit, whereby we are given a brand new recreated spirit.  We are born again spiritually and given a new life.  2 Corinthians 5:17

We believe the Holy Spirit is continuing the work He started at Pentecost empowering believers to live a godly life and continuing in the works and life of Jesus, through the nine fruit of the Spirit and the nine gifts of the Spirit.

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus and that those who have believed in Him will be resurrected to a heavenly dwelling in an incorruptible body, and those who do not repent and believe, will join Satan and his host in everlasting punishment.

We believe all born-again believers have been commissioned to share the whole Gospel to all the world.
